We are a friendly, independent garage looking for a reliable Vehicle Technician to join our small team. You'll be working alongside 2 experienced colleagues in a well-equipped workshop with 3 ramps, servicing and repairing all makes and models of cars. Romanian-speaking colleagues — perfect environment for Romanian technicians who would like to work in the UK or settle in more easily.
We do NOT carry out MOT testing — our focus is on servicing, diagnostics and general repairs.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical and electrical issues
- Perform servicing and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension and exhaust systems
- Use hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
- Replace worn or damaged parts to manufacturer standards
- Test drive vehicles after repair to confirm work has been carried out correctly
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
- Follow all health and safety regulations in the workshop
Requirements
- Previous experience as a vehicle technician / mechanic (preferred)
- Good knowledge of car mechanics, diagnostics and general repairs
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools and basic diagnostic equipment
- Full UK driving licence (Category B) required for road testing
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving
- Able to work as part of a small, friendly team
- Basic English communication skills (Romanian also spoken on site — helpful but not required)
- Relevant automotive qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) are advantageous but not essential
Working hours
- Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:30
- Saturday: 08:30 – 15:30 (optional, paid extra)
- Sunday: closed
