We're looking for a Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen during busy service periods. This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys working as part of a fast-paced team, takes pride in keeping things organised and wants to play an important part in delivering an outstanding customer experience.
The Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll help keep our kitchen running smoothly by ensuring everything behind the scenes is clean, organised and ready for service.
No two days are the same. One moment you may be helping prepare ingredients, the next supporting the chefs during a busy brunch service or ensuring equipment and crockery are spotless and ready to use.
Your contribution will be essential in helping the entire team deliver the high standards VanillaCo is known for.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining exceptional cleanliness throughout the kitchen and wash-up areas.
- Washing crockery, glassware, cutlery, utensils and kitchen equipment.
- Supporting with basic food preparation and ingredient preparation.
- Assisting with plating and finishing dishes during busy periods.
- Running food to customers when required.
- Restocking kitchen supplies and assisting with stock rotation.
- Keeping workstations clean, organised and fully prepared for service.
- Supporting opening and closing kitchen procedures.
- Following all food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures.
- Working closely with the front of house and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team.
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
- Can remain calm and efficient during busy periods.
- Is proactive and happy to help wherever needed.
- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Is reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Is willing to learn and develop within the hospitality industry.
- Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
