About the Role:
At Positive Steps Care & Support, we are looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Female Support Workers to join our growing team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support people with a range of needs to live fulfilling, independent lives whilst making a genuine difference every day.
We currently have vacancies supporting individuals across a variety of shift patterns. Successful applicants may work with one individual or across multiple support packages, depending on availability and service needs.
Activities and Interests Include:
- Participating in daily household tasks, such as preparing drinks and organising belongings.
- Engaging in community outings, including car rides (they enjoy riding in the front seat and operating the radio).
- Taking part in structured activities and trying new experiences with support.
Available shifts:
- Day Shifts: 08:00 – 20:00
- Sleep Nights 20:00 – 08:00
- Waking Nights: 20:00 – 08:00
- Weekend Shifts Available
Your Responsibilities:
- Encourage and support independence in daily tasks at home and in the community.
- Provide sensitive and respectful personal care when needed.
- Build confidence and help manage anxieties, such as a previously reduced fear of dogs.
- Facilitate engaging activities, ensuring an enriching routine.
- Use your own vehicle for outings (expenses covered as per agreed arrangements).
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience in Health and Social Care, particularly with individuals with autism or learning disabilities.
- A full, clean driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Patience, understanding, and a commitment to inclusion and empowerment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing health and activity needs.
- Caring and empathetic approach to supporting the service user.
Previous experience in care or supporting people with mental health is desirable but not essential. We provide a full induction, comprehensive training, and ongoing support, so we're just as interested in your values and attitude as we are in your experience.
