Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Skip Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Class 2 lorry to deliver and collect skips across various locations, ensuring timely and safe transportation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery services. Applicants must hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence and have relevant driving experience, particularly in delivering bulky goods such as skips. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 lorry to deliver and collect skips at designated sites.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed in accordance with schedules, maintaining punctuality.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety standards are met.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of skips, ensuring proper handling and securing of loads.
- Follow all relevant road safety regulations and company policies during daily operations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and mileage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding schedules or any issues encountered during routes.
- Keep the vehicle clean, organised, and in good condition throughout the working day.
Skills
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery driver or skip driver.
- Familiarity with flatbed or similar vehicles is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for heavy vehicle operation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan efficient routes.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading/unloading skips safely and efficiently.
