Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in their own homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, ensuring the well-being and comfort of clients. This role requires a blend of practical skills and emotional intelligence, particularly in assisting those with specific needs such as dementia care.
Our shifts typically work 7am - 2pm and 4pm - 9.30pm Monday - Sunday. (every other weekend working.)
We work with our team to create a week 1/ week 2 shift pattern working together for a good home/work life balance.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Assist with behaviour management techniques for clients with challenging behaviours.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the home.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Kind compassionate people wanting to support people to live well at home.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy and patience.
- Capability to manage behaviours effectively while maintaining a calm environment.
- A valid driving licence for accessing the community
