Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Nursery Lunch Cover to join our early childhood education team. This role involves providing nutritious meals and supervision during lunchtime, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young children. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with children in a nursery setting. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to children's daily routines within a supportive environment.
Duties
- Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with nutritional guidelines
- Encourage good manners and social interaction among children during mealtimes
- Maintain a clean and hygienic dining area before, during, and after meals
- Support children with their dietary needs and any special requirements
- Engage children in light activities or conversation to promote social development
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the lunchtime period
- Collaborate with nursery staff to ensure smooth transition between routines
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery, childcare, or early childhood education setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of childcare practices, health & safety standards, and nutrition guidelines for young children is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to build positive relationships with childrenand colleagues
