Air Conditioning Installation Engineer (Self-Employed/Subcontractor)
Location: East Sussex, West Sussex & Kent
Pay: Excellent rates - paid per installation.
About the Role
Optimum HVAC Ltd is looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Installation Engineer to join our growing team on a self-employed/subcontract basis.
We specialise in high-quality domestic air conditioning installations, with occasional light commercial projects. All jobs are surveyed, designed and quoted by our office, allowing you to focus on delivering first-class installations.
This is an ideal role for an engineer who takes pride in their workmanship, works independently and enjoys dealing directly with customers.
Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing your installation from start to finish.
- Completing high-quality installations to industry standards.
- Managing your own time and ensuring installations are completed efficiently.
- Checking materials before starting work and identifying any additional items required.
- Liaising professionally with customers throughout the installation.
- Pressure testing, evacuating and commissioning systems.
- Carrying out all operational checks and ensuring systems are working correctly.
- Completing any required installation paperwork.
- Leaving every property clean and tidy.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- F-Gas Category 1 Certification.
- Proven experience installing split and multi-split air conditioning systems.
- Excellent fault-finding and commissioning knowledge.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Their own suitable van.
- Their own installation tools and specialist equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
