We are seeking an experienced, qualified and highly organised Transport Manager to oversee and coordinate all transportation activities within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and optimising supply chain processes. The Transport Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining smooth shipping and receiving procedures, managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Duties
- Oversee daily transportation operations, including shipping & receiving activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and safety standards.
- Utilise transportation management systems.
- Coordinate with 3PL providers and internal teams to streamline supply chain activities and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
- Analyse transportation data to identify inefficiencies and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
- Manage data entry related to shipments, inventory updates, and logistics documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain effective communication with drivers, suppliers, clients, and internal departments via phone etiquette and professional correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company policies while managing documentation for shipping & receiving operations.
- Monitor transportation costs and prepare reports on logistics performance metrics for senior management.
- Lead efforts in implementing new systems or procedures that enhance operational efficiency within the logistics department.
Experience
- Proven experience in transportation management or logistics coordination within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong familiarity with transportation management systems
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, including shipping & receiving procedures and third-party logistics (3PL) management.
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret data related to logistics performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Proficient in data entry tasks with high accuracy; experience with systems like SAP or similar is advantageous.
- Effective communication skills, including professional phone etiquette and clear written correspondence.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
- Organised approach with the ability to prioritise responsibilities effectively under tight deadlines.

Pay: £28,923.95-£42,500.00 per year
