Full-Time Kitchen Porter & Kitchen Assistant

Pay: £12.00–£14.00 per hour, depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced, hard-working and reliable Full-Time Kitchen Porter & Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team.
This is a full-time position only. Please apply only if you are available to work full-time. Previous experience working in a busy kitchen is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Washing and cleaning dishes, pots, pans, kitchen equipment and utensils
- Keeping the kitchen, washing area and workstations clean, organised and sanitary at all times
- Sweeping and mopping kitchen floors
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste correctly
- Organising deliveries and storing food safely and correctly
- Following all food hygiene, health and safety procedures
- Working quickly and efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
- Supporting the chefs and the kitchen team wherever needed
Chef Support & Food Preparation
The successful candidate will also be expected to assist the chef with food preparation, including:
- Helping prepare starters, salads and desserts
- Assisting with daily food preparation
- Peeling, chopping and preparing ingredients
- Helping with all general preparation work before and during service
- Supporting the chef with any other kitchen duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a busy kitchen is required
- Must be available to work full-time
- Able to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
- Hard-working, reliable and punctual
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods
- Flexible to work shifts, including evenings and weekends when required
- Must be able to reliably commute to London SE1
