Duties
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in young children
- Support children with daily routines such as meal times, toileting, dressing, and rest periods
- Prepare nutritious snacks and meals in accordance with food safety standards and dietary requirements
- Maintain a clean and sanitized environment by adhering to sanitation protocols including food handling and classroom cleanliness
- Observe and record children’s progress, behaviors, and milestones to inform ongoing development assessments
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food preparation procedures, sanitation standards, and emergency protocols
Experience
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or early education setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques suitable for children’s dietary needs
- Strong understanding of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and food handling regulations
- Ability to manage time effectively while balancing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents and guardians
