Overview
Coleman Training is a specialist adult social care national training provider, delivering high-quality training and qualifications to care organisations, local authorities, NHS organisations and other health and social care services across the UK.
We are proud of the reputation we have built for the quality of our training, the relationships we develop with our clients and the personal approach we bring to everything we do.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced, capable and highly organised Training Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of our training operation.
This is an important role within our business and would suit someone who enjoys making things happen: someone who can manage people, organise a busy training function, solve problems, maintain high standards and help us continue to develop our training offer.
The role
As Training Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the smooth running of our training provision, including our delivery of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
We have our own bespoke training management system, which automates much of the day-to-day training administration. You will manage and support our training coordination team and work with our large national network of trainers, facilitators and co-trainers to ensure we have the right people, in the right places, at the right time.
You will also have an important role in maintaining the quality of our training and developing our course portfolio.
This isn't a role where you will simply monitor what other people are doing. We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, getting involved and finding solutions.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of our training provision.
- Managing and supporting members of the training coordination team.
- Supporting the recruitment, induction and ongoing management of trainers and associates.
- Maintaining excellent relationships with our national network of trainers, facilitators and co-trainers.
- Monitoring training evaluations, client feedback and trainer performance to maintain consistently high standards.
- Taking ownership of operational issues and resolving them quickly and professionally.
- Working closely with clients and colleagues to ensure large training contracts run smoothly.
- Identifying gaps and opportunities within our existing training portfolio.
- Taking responsibility for the development of new courses and resources as required.
- Personally developing training materials where this falls within your area of knowledge and expertise, or working with appropriate subject specialists where it does not.
- Ensuring existing courses remain current, accurate, engaging and relevant to adult social care practice.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Exceptionally organised and enjoys creating order in a busy environment.
- Confident managing people and setting clear expectations.
- Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Spots potential problems early and acts on them.
- Is comfortable making decisions.
- Can be warm and supportive while also dealing confidently with performance issues when necessary.
- Builds strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Has high standards and genuinely cares about the quality of training.
- Commercially aware and understands the importance of delivering services efficiently.
- Confident using digital systems and open to using technology and AI to improve the way we work.
- Enjoys developing ideas and turning them into practical solutions.
