Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and service manuals to accurately execute repairs
- Carry out equipment repair and maintenance to ensure all tools and machinery are in proper working order
- Execute welding tasks as required for structural repairs or modifications
- Assist with vehicle diagnostics using electronic testing devices and software
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Lift heavy components safely during repair procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspace
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or similar role with a strong mechanical knowledge base
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic charts
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and maintenance procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts replacement
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive technology or mechanics are preferred but not essential
- Must be able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
