About Us
Supreme Contract Services Limited is a commercial cleaning and grounds maintenance company based in the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire area. We provide contract cleaning, window cleaning, and grounds maintenance to commercial clients including offices, schools, healthcare premises, industrial estates, and housing associations. We hold Safe Contractor and CQMS accreditations and have a team of approximately 70 cleaning and grounds operatives.
We’re a small, hands-on business. There’s no corporate fluff here – we need someone who can get stuck in, think for themselves, and push the business forward.
About the Role
This is a new position. We’re looking for someone young, driven, and digitally savvy to take ownership of marketing and business development across the company. You’ll be responsible for growing our online presence, generating new leads, and winning new business – both through digital marketing and old-fashioned cold calling. Supervisor
You’ll work alongside our Contracts Manager and Supervisor, your role is designed to overlap with theirs in key areas – particularly around minimising costs, optimising systems, and driving revenue growth. You’ll bring a fresh perspective and a progressive mindset to a well-established business.
This role is roughly split: 3 days per week on marketing, digital, and business development strategy, and 2 days per week on outbound cold calling and direct lead generation.
You need to be self-sufficient, trustworthy, and commercially minded. The Director’s interests are your interests – protecting the business, growing revenue, and keeping costs down.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Online Presence
- Own and manage the company website – keep content fresh, relevant, and optimised for search engines
- Develop and execute an SEO strategy to increase organic visibility for commercial cleaning and grounds maintenance searches in our operating area
- Develop and implement an AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) strategy – ensuring Supreme Contract Services appears in AI-generated search results (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, voice assistants)
◦ Structure website content as clear, answer-focused, and semantically rich so AI systems can understand, cite, and recommend us
◦ Implement schema markup (FAQ Page, Local Business, Service) to improve machine readability
◦ Monitor AI citation performance and adjust content strategy accordingly
- Manage and grow the company’s social media presence (Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, Google Business Profile)
◦ Create and schedule regular content: job completions, before/after photos, client testimonials, team updates, seasonal tips
◦ Engage with followers and respond to enquiries promptly
- Create and manage paid advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram Ads) targeting commercial clients in our area
- Set up and manage email marketing (e.g. Mailchimp) to stay in touch with clients and prospects
- Monitor and report on website traffic, search rankings, social media engagement, and lead generation performance using Google Analytics, Search Console, and social media insights
- Manage and optimise the Google Business Profile – posts, photos, Q&A, review responses
- Request and manage Google reviews from satisfied clients
Business Development & Cold Calling
- Spend approximately 2 days per week on outbound prospecting and cold calling
◦ Target: estate agents, property managers, facilities companies, housing associations, schools, healthcare premises, industrial estates, and commercial offices
◦ Work from the existing prospect list and continuously build and update it
- Make targeted, researched cold calls – not just smashing through a phone book. Understand who you’re calling, what they might need, and why we’re the right fit
- Follow up every call with a tailored email or quote where appropriate
- Book site visits and arrange quotations for the Director or Contracts Manager to attend
- Track all outreach activity, outcomes, and pipeline in a simple CRM or spreadsheet
- Re-engage lapsed clients – contact anyone we haven’t worked with in 6+ months
- Follow up all outstanding quotes after 5–7 working days
- Attend local networking events, exhibitions, and business groups to raise the company’s profile
Commercial & Systems Optimisation
- Work with the Contracts Manager to identify opportunities to maximise invoice values and spot upselling opportunities
- Review and challenge existing supplier costs, stock expenditure, and operational processes with a view to minimising waste and cost
- Bring fresh ideas and digital tools to improve how the office works – better systems, smarter processes, less duplication
- Research competitors – what they charge, how they market themselves, what they offer – and feed intelligence back to the Director
- Contribute to tender and framework submissions (Contracts Finder, local authority portals)
- Support the Supervisor with recruitment marketing – improve how we attract cleaning and grounds staff through Indeed, Facebook, and other channels
Reporting
- Provide a weekly marketing and business development update to the Director covering:
◦ Cold calls made, outcomes, and pipeline status
◦ Leads generated (online and offline)
◦ Quotes sent and followed up
◦ Website and social media performance (traffic, enquiries, reviews)
◦ Any competitor intelligence or market observations
- Feed relevant business intelligence into Julie’s weekly Company Overview Report
- Track ROI on any paid advertising spend
About You
We’re hiring for attitude first. The right mindset matters more than a polished CV. We’ll support you in developing the technical skills – but we can’t teach drive, initiative, or integrity.
What We’re Looking For
- A self-starter who takes ownership and gets things done without being chased
- Confident on the phone – not afraid to pick it up and have a conversation with someone you’ve never spoken to before
- Genuinely interested in digital marketing, social media, and how businesses get found online
- Commercially aware – you understand that the point of marketing is to win business and make money
- Good written English – emails, social posts, and website copy need to read well
- Trustworthy and discreet – you’ll have access to sensitive business information
- Organised and able to manage your own time without supervision
- Full UK driving licence
Experience That Would Be Advantageous
- Any experience in digital marketing, SEO, social media, or content creation
- Cold calling, telesales, or business development experience
- Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Canva, Mailchimp, or social media scheduling platforms
- Experience in facilities management, cleaning, property services, or any service-based industry
- Knowledge of AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation), schema markup, or AI search tools
- Video content creation for social media
- Experience with CRM systems or tender portals
What We Offer
- A genuine opportunity to shape and own the marketing and business development function in a growing company
- Direct access to the Director – your ideas will be heard and acted on, not lost in a corporate chain
- Autonomy – we’ll set the direction together, but how you get there is largely up to you
- A varied role – no two days are the same
- Competitive salary (negotiable depending on experience)
- Pension scheme
- 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)
How This Role Fits into the Team
There are three office-based roles in the company. Here’s how they work together:
- Contracts Manager – handles the commercial and compliance side: wages, invoicing, accreditations, NHS audits, debt reconciliation, CIS, pensions, escalated staff issues, new business, and the weekly Company Overview Report
- Supervisor – runs day-to-day operations: shifts, staffing, stock, vehicle management, QC checks, admin, and debt chasing
- You (Marketing & Business Development Executive) – own marketing, lead generation, online presence, cold calling, and push the business forward commercially
Your role deliberately overlaps with the Contract Managers on new business and commercial strategy. The difference is that the Contract Manager focuses on existing contracts and client management, while you focus on finding and winning new work and building the brand. You’ll also bring a fresh eye to costs, systems, and how we do things – if something’s inefficient or outdated, say so.
All three roles report directly to the Director.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 – 39.0 per week
Work Location: In person
