Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Family Support Worker (Residential) to join our team. This vital role involves providing high-quality support to children within a residential setting, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development. The successful candidate will play a key part in fostering a nurturing environment, promoting positive behaviour, and assisting with the overall care plan. Experience working with children is highly desirable, alongside a genuine commitment to making a meaningful difference in young people's lives. We use the PACE principles and the Secure Base Model in order to create a therapeutic environment so children can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised support programmes tailored to the needs of children and young people in residence
- Promote positive behaviour and social skills through engaging activities and consistent boundaries
- Assist with daily routines including meal preparation, personal care, and recreational activities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and relevant observations in accordance with organisational policies
- Support children in developing life skills to foster independence and resilience
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, patience, and empathy at all times
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents by adhering to health and safety protocols and safeguarding procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people within a residential or related setting is preferred
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable children and families
- Ability to work as part of a team whilst also demonstrating initiative independently
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings, weekends, or unsociable hours if necessary
- Level 3 in children's Residential care is essential; further training will be provided for suitable candidates and support up to Level 5 leadership and management.
Pay: £24,420.00-£39,699.72 per year
