We are a term time only, pack away setting, open Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, caring for children from 18months to school leaving age.
Hours and length of contract would be dependent on children's needs and attendance patterns. Length of current staff absence would also be a factor. A permanent position may be available to the right candidate.
We are looking for an experienced and/or qualified SEND practitioner to join our small team in supporting staff and children for the upcoming Autumn term, with the potential of continuing throughout the academic year.
The ideal candidate would have:
- Knowledge of the EYFS
- Hold a Level 3 in childcare
- SEN qualification
- Paediatric First Aid
- A relevant DBS (and be on the update service)
- Safeguarding qualification/certificate
- Experience in supporting young children with additional needs
- Be able to implement an IEP and behavioural support plan
- Experience using a range of additional communication resources
- Experience in an Early Years Setting
Responsibilities
- Support children with special educational needs (SEND) in their daily activities and learning experiences.
- Keep records and observations up to date
- Plan and implement activities to support specific IEP targets
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes early childhood education.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to ensure effective communication regarding children's progress.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic space, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training and professional development, including obtaining Paediatric First Aid Certification.
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging educational activities tailored to individual needs.
