About the Role
We're looking for people interested in a summer job on our pick-your-own raspberry, gooseberry, blackcurrant and redcurrant farm, located near Little Salkeld, close to Long Meg Stone Circle (CA10 1NW).
Working days and hours are flexible, generally between 10am and 5pm. We're outdoors and weather-dependent — we open when conditions are good, and close when it's raining, since neither our guests nor our team enjoy a soggy day in the raspberry field!
A 30-minute paid lunch break is provided, along with full training — no experience needed. We have a portable toilet and running water available in the field.
What You'll Be Doing
- Outdoor horticultural work, including picking fruit and general field maintenance like weeding
- Welcoming and helping customers with their pick-your-own experience
- Maintaining our display table of fruit, jam, drinks, and Hospice at Home charity items for sale
- Weighing customer purchases and operating the contactless payment machine
- Working closely with the team to keep daily operations running smoothly
What We're Looking For
- An interest in outdoor work and the ability to handle physical, hands-on tasks
- Own transport to and from the farm. If you can drive and bring a car, that is preferred as we sometimes have deliveries to local businesses but this is not essential. Parking is provided in the field.
- A personal or previous employment reference
- A friendly attitude and good teamwork skills
