We are currently recruiting for an experienced MOT Tester to join our expanding Vehicle Preparation Centre in Preston.
Supporting one of the largest independent used car retailers in the North West, you will play a key role in ensuring our vehicles meet the highest standards of roadworthiness, safety and compliance before reaching our customers.

The Role
As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for carrying out Class 4 MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards while assisting with vehicle preparation when required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out Class 4 MOT inspections in line with DVSA regulations.
- Identifying and accurately recording defects and advisories.
- Ensuring all MOT documentation is completed correctly.
- Working to DVSA standards and maintaining testing compliance.
- Assisting with vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs where appropriate.
- Preparing vehicles to a high retail standard.
- Working closely with the workshop team to maximise efficiency.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
About You
The successful applicant will have:
- A current DVSA MOT Tester licence.
- Previous experience as an MOT Tester.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A professional and positive attitude.
Desirable Skills
- Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Experience carrying out servicing and mechanical repairs.
- Diagnostic experience.
- Previous dealership or vehicle preparation experience.
