Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Manager to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid background in warehouse management. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient processes, maintaining safety standards, and managing a team to achieve operational goals. Your expertise in logistics and materials handling will be crucial in optimising our workflow.
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off 12 hour shift
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations and manage team performance to ensure productivity targets are met.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in operations.
- Oversee shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliveries.
- Utilise the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for inventory control and tracking purposes.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on safety protocols, equipment operation, and best practices.
- Manage materials handling tasks, including heavy lifting as required, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate logistics activities, including liaising with third-party logistics (3PL) providers when necessary.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine checks and troubleshooting mechanical issues as they arise.
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role is essential.
- Strong knowledge of materials handling, shipping & receiving processes, and logistics operations.
- Familiarity with forklift operation; certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce.
