Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate chef/cook to join our family team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
Duties
- Prepare, cook, and present a diverse range of meals in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food preparation and service
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to maintain quality and variety
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
- Collaborate with team members to deliver efficient service during busy periods
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste
- Serve dishes to residents when required, ensuring presentation meets company standards
- Support training of junior staff and contribute to a positive team environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking in a hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Experience with meal preparation, plating, and presentation techniques
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Previous experience is advantageous but not essential
- Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not mandatory
