Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care for animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of the animals while also providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Split shifts are required 7am to 11am then 330pm to 600 pm

Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and cats.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with administering medications as directed by veterinary professionals.
- Engage with pet owners, providing updates on their pets and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Support the team in managing heavy lifting tasks related to animal care and facility maintenance.
Experience
- Previous veterinary experience is highly desirable but not essential; a passion for animal care is crucial.
- Experience in customer service roles will be beneficial for interacting with pet owners effectively.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting tasks associated with animal care and kennel maintenance.
