We are looking for a proactive Accounts Assistant to become a key part of our daily finance operations in Basildon. The Role at a Glance
In this key position, you will manage the full lifecycle of our accounts—from Purchase Ledger and Credit Control to specialized industry schemes. You won't just be "processing"; you'll be ensuring our financial health and maintaining great relationships with our suppliers and customers.
Your core impact areas will include:
- Full Cycle Accounts: Managing Purchase Ledger (POs, invoices, and statements) and Credit Control (invoicing and query resolution).
- Construction Industry Expertise: Handling CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) and DRC through the Sage Module, including HMRC submissions.
- Finance Administration: Managing staff expenses, petty cash, fuel cards, and invoice trackers.
- Office Support: Occasionally assisting with travel arrangements and keeping the office running smoothly (post, stationary, and deliveries).
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for a self-starter who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision.
- Software Savvy: Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Professional and Excel is essential.
- Accounting Knowledge: Solid experience in PL, SL, VAT submissions including; DRC, CIS submissions, Bank reconciliation
- Industry Insight: Experience within the Construction Industry is a significant advantage.
- The Right Mindset: Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable answering the telephone and dealing with ad-hoc queries.
