Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating manufacturing machinery to produce top-quality packaging products. Your energy and mechanical aptitude will help ensure smooth production processes, safety compliance, and continuous improvement in our operations.
Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor cardboard packaging machinery.
- Use computer terminals to set and operate the machines.
- Read and interpret works orders and drawings for machine setup and adjustments.
- Handle materials efficiently, ensuring proper loading and unloading, on and around the machine
- Perform routine daily safety inspections, operator maintenance, and housekeeping activities.
- Maintain accurate production records, follow safety protocols, and ensure quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.
Skills
- Good mechanical knowledge with experience in a production environment
- Comfortable interpreting works orders and technical drawings.
- The ability to use small hand tools effectively for setting and maintenance and tasks.
- Knowledge of manual handling techniques within a factory setting.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
- Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience is advantageous
- Good communication skills, and enjoy being part of a team.
- You enjoy growing your skills, and being training, with guidance from colleagues and managers.
Training Period and Working Hours
- There will be a training program for the first 16 weeks. The hours for the training period will be:
- Week 1-8 = 10am - 6pm Mon -Thurs, 11:30 - 5pm Fri
- Week 9-16 = 12noon - 8pm Mon-Fri, 11:30 - 5pm Fri
- Once training is complete the parmenant working hours will be:
- 2pm - 10pm Monday to Thursday
- 11:30am - 5pm Friday

Pay: £13.86 per hour
