About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Mobile Tyre Technician to provide professional tyre fitting and roadside tyre assistance to customers at their home, workplace and roadside.
The role covers a wide range of vehicles including cars, vans, commercial vehicles and HGVs. You will work from a fully equipped mobile tyre fitting vehicle and attend both planned appointments and emergency call-outs.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mobile tyre fitting on cars, vans, light commercial vehicles and HGVs
- Remove, fit and replace tyres safely and professionally
- Carry out puncture repairs where appropriate and safe to do so
- Balance wheels and check tyre pressures
- Diagnose common tyre and wheel-related problems
- Attend roadside emergency tyre call-outs
- Work safely around HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Carry out tyre inspections including tread depth, pressure, condition and visible damage
- Identify tyres that are unsafe or unsuitable for continued use
- Ensure correct tyre size, load rating and specification before fitting
- Safely jack and support vehicles using the appropriate equipment and procedures
- Use mobile tyre fitting equipment, compressors, impact tools, torque wrenches and other specialist equipment
- Correctly torque wheel nuts/bolts to manufacturer requirements
- Complete job records, photographs and customer paperwork/app records where required
- Take payment or confirm payment/booking details where applicable
- Maintain accurate stock levels within the mobile fitting vehicle
- Keep the van, tools and equipment clean, organised and secure
- Report equipment defects, stock shortages or vehicle issues promptly
- Deliver a professional and friendly service to every customer
- Represent the company professionally while on the road and at customer locations
Roadside & HGV Safety
Safety is a major part of this position. The technician will be expected to:
- Carry out dynamic risk assessments before starting work
- Assess whether a roadside location is safe enough to work in
- Use appropriate PPE, warning equipment and safe working procedures
- Follow company procedures when working near live traffic
- Never undertake work where conditions present an unacceptable risk
- Follow appropriate lifting, jacking and wheel-handling procedures, particularly for HGV and commercial vehicle work
Requirements
Essential:
- Previous professional tyre fitting experience
- Competent fitting tyres to cars and vans
- Good mechanical and practical ability
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Good customer-service and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Comfortable working outdoors and in different weather conditions
- Physically capable of handling tyres, wheels and tyre-fitting equipment
- Able to use smartphones/apps for receiving jobs, navigation, photographs and job completion
For HGV work:
- Previous HGV/commercial tyre fitting experience is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of commercial tyre sizes, pressures and load requirements
- Experience safely handling large commercial wheels and tyres
- Understanding of roadside HGV tyre-fitting safety procedures

Working Pattern
This is a mobile and customer-facing position. The successful candidate should be comfortable working a shift pattern which may include days, evenings, weekends and emergency roadside call-outs, depending on the rota.
You will be expected to manage your allocated jobs efficiently, communicate with dispatch/customers and maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout your shift.

Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
