This is a 4-month contract role with a local authority, aimed at providing professional, responsive, and customer-focused HR advice and support to schools that purchase the HR service. As a trusted advisor, the role supports school leaders and managers with a full range of employee relations and people management matters. The position ensures compliance with employment legislation, school policies, and best practices while delivering a high-quality service that inspires confidence.

Provide timely, accurate, and practical HR advice to headteachers, senior leaders, and school managers on a wide range of people-related matters.

Advise on employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance management, and performance issues.

Support schools with recruitment and selection processes, ensuring fair and inclusive practices.

Guide managers on employment legislation, HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

Assist with workforce planning, organizational change, restructures, and consultation processes where required.

Attend meetings, hearings, and appeals, providing professional HR advice and support.

Produce and review HR documentation, reports, correspondence, and case records.

Working hours: 37 hours per week.

Hybrid working: Minimum one day a week at Loxley House, especially important for those who haven't advised schools before.
