This is a brilliant opportunity for a nurse who enjoys the variety and pace of general practice and wants to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of our local community.
You will be joining a friendly and collaborative team, working closely with our GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, allied health professionals and wider practice team.
The role
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to use and develop a wide range of clinical skills.
Your role will include:
- Delivering high-quality chronic disease management clinics.
- Providing a broad range of general practice nursing care.
- Wound care and management.
- Cervical screening.
- Adult and childhood immunisations and vaccinations.
- Travel health advice and vaccinations.
- Health promotion, prevention and supporting patients to make positive lifestyle changes.
- New patient health checks and opportunistic health promotion.
- Supporting patients with long-term conditions.
- Ear care.
- Assisting with minor surgery where required.
- Responding appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
- Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Contributing to QOF, clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining high standards of clinical governance, patient safety and record keeping.
We’re looking for someone who...
- Is a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Has experience in general practice nursing, or is keen to develop a career in primary care.
- Has a recognised qualification in diabetes care or a keen desire to develop their knowledge and skills in this area.
- Is enthusiastic, proactive and ready to get involved.
- Enjoys working as part of a supportive and busy team.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is confident managing their own workload while knowing when to seek support.
- Is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care.
- Is committed to continued learning and professional development.
- Brings energy, ideas and a positive attitude!
