Salary = Salary: £13.00 per hour + Commission on Sales
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organised Operations and Events Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of events across our organisation. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, a strong background in hospitality or related sectors, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while ensuring operational efficiency. The Role Consists of Two Core Areas1. Private Events & Weddings
· Manage enquiries, venue viewings and quotations.
· Lead the client journey from booking to event day.
· Coordinate and book suppliers, catering, staffing and logistics.
· Work with finance to ensure timely invoicing and payments successfully received.
· Act as Duty Manager for events and deliver exceptional events.
2. Abbey Mill Public Events
· Own and create the annual public events calendar.
· Plan and deliver at least four public events each month.
· Develop new event ideas aligned with the Abbey Mill brand.
· Manage budgets and event profitability.
Working Hours
· Mandatory core hours: Monday to Thursday, 3:00pm–6:00pm.
· Weekend working is required for weddings, private hire and public events.
· Additional evening hours are required where business needs dictate.
Experience
- Proven experience in event management within the hospitality industry, such as restaurants, hotels, or similar venues.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, vendors, and team members at all levels.
- Experience in upselling services or products to enhance revenue streams during events.
- Demonstrated ability in time management and multitasking across various projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of fundraising activities is advantageous but not essential.
- Previous guest services experience that highlights a commitment to delivering outstanding customer care.
- Familiarity with hospitality operations and standards will be highly regarded.
