About SF Taylor
Based in Stockport, SF Taylor has been providing print solutions to organisations across the UK for over 100 years. We provide a comprehensive range of print and print management services, including design, in-house production, stock management and digital solutions.
We are looking for an experienced Print Production and Purchasing Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in the efficient planning and delivery of our customers' work.
The Role
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure work is scheduled and produced on time and as efficiently as possible.
Working closely with our production departments, sales teams and suppliers, you will manage the flow of work through the business, resolve production exceptions and purchase materials or external services where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate work through internal production, balancing deadlines, capacity and efficiency.
- Liaise daily with departmental managers on workload, priorities and production capacity.
- Identify potential issues and bottlenecks early, taking ownership of finding practical solutions.
- Manage production exceptions and communicate changes or delays clearly and promptly to sales teams.
- Purchase materials and source external print and finishing services where required.
- Work with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, quality and appropriate turnaround times.
- Make commercially sound decisions when balancing internal capacity, outsourcing, cost and customer deadlines.
- Maintain accurate job and production information within Tharstern MIS.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge and understanding of print production and manufacturing processes.
- Confident and accurate experience using Tharstern MIS – this is mandatory, or similar system.
- Experience of electronic scheduling would be an advantage, although training can be provided.
- Previous experience in print production planning, scheduling, purchasing or a similar role.
- A commercial mindset, with a good understanding of cost, efficiency and profitability.
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities, spot problems early and make confident decisions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production teams, sales and external suppliers.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay: £28,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
