Job Overview
We are looking for a Part-Time Cook to join our care home group. Previous experience cooking in a care home, hospital or similar catering environment is preferred, but full training and support will be provided.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, hygiene-conscious and takes pride in preparing tasty, nutritious meals for our residents, including those with specific dietary and textured food requirements.
You will work alongside the catering and care teams to plan and deliver meals that meet residents' nutritional needs and preferences.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparing and cooking meals in line with menus and dietary requirements
- Catering for specialist diets, including modified texture (IDDSI) and allergen requirements
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Ordering and managing stock, minimising waste
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations
- Keeping accurate records, including temperature checks and allergen information
- Liaising with care staff regarding residents' individual dietary needs
- Supporting kitchen porters/assistants and maintaining a well-organised kitchen
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 14.0 per week
