The Vending Operative, reporting to the Depot Manager, will be responsible for ensuring that those machines under his or her responsibility shall be serviced and maintained to the high standards required by Decorum Vending.
Ideal candidate
- Experienced in delivery and replenishment of products within a planned daily route.
- Technical & mechanical experience in Coffee vending machines
- Well organised, and flexible in approach to route replenishment demands and changing requirements at short notice.
- Capable of interpreting error situations at machine level and taking the necessary corrective action to remediate faults and issues whilst on site.
- Has a flexible approach to working hours, early starts and route planning requirements.
- Security conscious and conversant with health and safety good working practices whilst engaged in the fulfilment of duties.
- Able to effectively prioritise tasks and route assignments.
- Self-motivated – adopts a “can do” attitude to the role.
- Enjoys a good level of health and fitness. Used to workplace manual handling requirements – able to lift 25Kg safely. Able to deploy loaded sack trucks from vehicle to machine.
- Have a good command of spoken and written English.
- Display a very personable approach, with the ability to interact effectively with other team members and external persons.
- Be flexible to changing work schedules and working hours to meet the Business requirements.
The Job
You will need to be proactive, reliable & customer focused, promoting & protecting our Company’s professional image at East Surrey Hospital, East Grinstead and other local sites.
The main responsibilities will be:
- Servicing and maintaining machines to ensure they operate well to maximise sales and the customer experience
- Ensuring machines are clean at all times
- Collecting stock, maintaining a clean, tidy & efficient warehouse
- Diagnose and rectify faults (after training if needed)
- Pre-Delivery Inspection of coffee machines (if coffee experience)
- Driven by our Helpdesk and service calls, react in a timely manner to find fault resolution
- Drive the performance and efficiency of machines
- Order stock, parts and equipment when necessary
- Respond to reported machine breakdowns within times specified within our SLA's
- Provide maintenance to machines currently in the field
- Provide other cover to other areas as required for holiday/sickness
- There will be an element of manual handling and walking long distances at certain sites
Details
- Work hours will be circa 48 hours per week
- Job type: Full-time.
- Bonus scheme of up to 10% per annum.
- 23 days annual paid holiday.

- Coffee Vending Operator/Engineer: 2 years (preferred)
- Warehouse: 1 year (preferred)
