Job Overview
We are recruiting a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our small family business near Three Legged Cross. We are offering this role with flexibility on days/hours worked so it could fit around the school drop off and pick up or other commitments. We would ask that once hours are decided that they are then fixed as the candidates usual hours rather than varying them each week. A little flexibility is available when required of course, we are a small family business so we understand sometimes things happen. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of warehouse activities, including handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to develop their skills within a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Handling and packing products safely and efficiently across various stages of the warehouse process
- Picking and packing of large shipments.
- Assisting with shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading lorries occasionally.
- Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer requirements
- Restocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Conducting quality control checks on goods to maintain high standards
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse environment at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in picking & packing would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for inventory accuracy
- Physical ability for occasional heavy lifting and load/unload operations throughout the day
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations within a warehouse setting
