Job Summary
Join our dynamic warehouse team as a Parcel Sorter and Warehouse Operative, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our logistics operations running smoothly! In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently sorting parcels, handling materials, and supporting the overall flow of goods within the warehouse. There will lots of work for manual handling, so make sure you are able to lift the parcel with weight. Your proactive approach will ensure timely shipping and receiving, contributing to a seamless supply chain process. Duties
- Sort incoming and outgoing parcels accurately according to size, weight, and destination
- Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques or forklift equipment when certified
- Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
- Assist with materials handling tasks, including moving goods around the warehouse safely
- Support shipping and receiving processes by preparing parcels for dispatch or receipt
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and storage areas to maintain safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet daily operational targets
Qualifications
- Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with materials handling is highly desirable
- Valid forklift certification is a plus; mechanical knowledge can be beneficial for equipment maintenance
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively throughout the shift
- Construction or heavy industry experience can provide valuable skills for this role
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in sorting and documentation
- Willingness to work in a physically active environment with standing, bending, and lifting involved
