Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Workers to provide high-quality home care services to individuals in their own residences. This role involves supporting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering person-centred care and fostering independence for those in need, including elderly clients and individuals with specialised care requirements such as dementia or Alzheimer's. Experience in assisted living, nursing, or hospice care is highly desirable, though full training will be provided for the right candidates. Duties
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting medication administration in accordance with prescribed guidelines
- Helping with meal preparation and ensuring nutritional needs are met
- Providing companionship and emotional support to minimise feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Assisting with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Managing behaviour management strategies for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's
- Driving clients to appointments or social activities using company vehicles where applicable
- Monitoring health status and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and client progress
- Ensuring a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice, or home care environments is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, and senior care best practices
- Certification in first aid is advantageous
- Valid driving licence for client transportation purposes
- Strong communication skills and empathetic nature
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks
- Competence in medication administration and behaviour management techniques
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends as required
- A caring attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for clients
