About Flagship Contracts:
Flagship Contracts is a premier, family run, fit out specialist operating across the UK and Ireland. From high-street retail giants and hospitality brands to leisure facilities and workspaces, we deliver fast-paced, high-quality projects with the precision of a workshop and the discipline of a professional contractor.
To support our busy pipeline of commercial projects and continued growth, we are now seeking a commercially-minded professional to join our Nottinghamshire team.
The Role:
We are looking for a Procurement & Estimating Officer to manage material procurement while taking ownership of job pricing. This is a hands-on, highly practical hybrid role.
Please note: You do not need to be a qualified Quantity Surveyor (QS). Our pricing structures are straightforward and template-driven. We need someone with solid trade or shopfitting literacy who can accurately calculate material quantities from project drawings, secure competitive rates, and compile clear, reliable costs for upcoming jobs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Procurement: Source and purchase timber, metal, glass, ironmongery, and specialist materials for live fit-out and bespoke joinery projects.
- Supply Chain Management: Manage and expand our trusted supply chain to secure the best trade rates, ensuring low-impact, responsibly sourced materials align with our sustainability goals.
- Basic Job Pricing & Estimating: Review client drawings/specifications and use our internal templates to prepare accurate quotes and take-offs for upcoming works.
- Logistics & Project Coordination: Liaise closely with our Project and Contract Managers to ensure materials arrive at our head office or on-site exactly when needed to meet tight rollout deadlines.
- Cost Control: Monitor live project spend against initial estimates to protect job profitability.
What We Are Looking For:
- Industry Experience: A proven track record in purchasing or procurement within shopfitting, interior fit-out, bespoke joinery, or a commercial builders' merchant.
- Practical Pricing Literacy: Experience doing basic estimating, material take-offs, or trade quoting (formal QS qualifications are not required).
- Material & Trade Knowledge: A strong understanding of commercial fit-out materials, manufacturing processes, and subcontractor trades.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning internal digital pricing/purchasing workflows.
- Key Attributes: Strong negotiation skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively under fast-paced project deadlines.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary based on experience (£35,000 - £45,000 Dependent on experience)
- Company pension scheme
- The chance to work on high-profile projects for major high-street and independent brands
- A supportive, professional team environment at an established, SafeContractor-approved company
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Casual dress
- Company pension
- On-site parking
- Sick pay
- Work from home
Work Location: In person
