Registered Care Manager – Liverpool
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Driving Licence: Full UK licence and access to your own vehicle essential
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Registered Care Manager to take overall responsibility for a well-established domiciliary care service in Liverpool.
The service currently delivers approximately 1,000 care hours per week, making this a substantial and well-established operation with a strong foundation already in place.
The organisation is looking for a long-term, committed manager who wants to build on the service's existing success and become a key part of its continued development.
This is not a role where you're walking into a service that has had constant management changes. The service has had just two managers over the last five years, both of whom have been highly successful, and the focus now is on finding someone who wants to provide the same level of stability, leadership and longevity.
About the Role
- As Registered Care Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the quality, compliance and day-to-day operation of the domiciliary care service.
- You will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing a high-performing care and office team.
- Overseeing approximately 1,000 care hours per week.
- Maintaining CQC compliance and ensuring the service continues to meet regulatory standards.
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of high-quality domiciliary care.
- Overseeing recruitment, induction, retention and development of care staff.
- Managing rotas and ensuring sufficient staffing levels to meet service-user needs.
- Monitoring quality through audits, reviews, spot checks and quality assurance processes.
- Managing safeguarding concerns, incidents and complaints where required.
- Building strong relationships with service users, families, commissioners and healthcare professionals.
- Ensuring care plans and risk assessments remain accurate, current and person-centred.
- Supporting the continued development and growth of the service.
- Managing staff performance and providing effective supervision and support.
- Participating in the on-call rota and providing operational support when required.
- Ensuring the service consistently delivers safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Registered Care Manager / Registered Manager within domiciliary care.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing a substantial domiciliary care operation.
- Domiciliary care and Extra Care experience — ideally both.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Experience managing care staff, rotas, recruitment and performance.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and risk management.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage a busy service while maintaining high standards.
- A genuine commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care.
- A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care as a minimum.
- A Level 5 qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Business insurance or willingness to obtain this.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
- Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
