About the Role
Our production team is continuing to grow, and we're looking for an experienced and passionate supervisor to join our bakery operation. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced food production environment and is ready to take the next step in their career.
As a supervisor, you'll play a key role in leading our pastry team, ensuring production targets are achieved, quality standards are maintained, and team members are supported to perform at their very best. You'll be responsible for creating a positive, high-performing culture while driving continuous improvement across the department
Role Duties:
- Lead, motivate and develop the pastry production team to achieve operational excellence.
- Provide coaching, guidance and regular feedback to support colleague development and performance.
- Support and develop Team Leaders, helping to build future talent within the department.
- Ensure production plans are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
- Monitor departmental KPIs including yield, waste, efficiency and labour performance.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and productivity.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, quality, hygiene and compliance.
- Ensure all company policies, procedures and health & safety requirements are adhered to.
- Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions to minimise disruption.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Promote a positive working environment that encourages teamwork, accountability and engagement.
- Support production managers with reporting, resource planning and departmental performance reviews.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a food manufacturing, bakery or production environment.
- Level 2 Food Safety qualification (Level 3 desirable).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, engage and develop others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing performance and supporting colleague development.
- Good understanding of food safety, quality and health & safety standards.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement and operational performance.
- Flexible approach and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
