Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Shop Assistant/Cashier to join our retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining an organised sales environment. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a professional manner
- Operate the cash register efficiently, ensuring accurate processing of transactions
- Handle cash, card payments, and returns with precision and integrity
- Provide information about products, promotions, and store policies to customers
- Maintain the organisation and visual presentation of merchandise on shelves and displays
- Upsell products where appropriate to maximise sales opportunities
- Manage stock levels by replenishing shelves and organising stockroom areas
- Ensure the shop floor remains clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Utilise organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
Requirements
- Fluency in English;
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Experience in merchandising or retail is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude
- Reliable with good organisational skills and attention to detail
