We’re looking for a Ultrasound Manager to join our Imaging team at The Portland Hospital. As part of a leading private healthcare provider, you’ll be working across two well-established outpatient sites on Great Portland Street and Wimpole Street, supporting a service that combines specialist expertise with a strong focus on patient-centred care. This is a role where your leadership directly shapes how ultrasound services are delivered, experienced and continuously improved.
As an Ultrasound Manager, you’ll step into a senior leadership role that blends hands-on clinical practice with strategic and operational oversight. You’ll guide a skilled team of sonographers, ensuring high standards of care while maintaining efficient service delivery across both sites. From managing day-to-day operations and optimising patient flow, to leading on audits, protocols and service development, your work will have a clear and visible impact. You’ll also play a key role within the wider Imaging leadership team, collaborating across modalities to deliver a joined-up, high-quality service for every patient.

What you’ll do:
Lead the day-to-day operational management of ultrasound services across two outpatient sites
Deliver high-quality ultrasound examinations and autonomous clinical reports
Manage, support and develop a team of sonographers, including performance, rotas and appraisals
Drive quality, governance and audit activity, ensuring compliance with clinical standards
Collaborate with imaging leaders and stakeholders to develop and improve services
What you’ll bring:
Extensive experience in sonography, including obstetrics, gynaecology and general ultrasound
Proven leadership experience managing and developing clinical teams
Relevant postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound
HCPC, NMC or equivalent professional registration
Strong clinical judgement, communication skills and ability to manage complex cases
