Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Parts Coordinator to work within our busy parts department at Locators Ltd in Ferndown.
Locators employs over 70 people and was established in 1985 providing a high-quality materials handling service to a wide range of industries. Our Head Office and workshops are located in Ferndown, Dorset with a regional workshop in Thatcham, Berkshire.
Locators has long-term dealership / partnership agreements with Toyota, Combilift and Manitou. We are looking to expand our Parts team and are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join us.
Salary: Starting Salary £31,500 PA
Salary will increase overtime with experienced gained, and will be reviewed regularly,
Location: Ferndown, fully office based
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm - 40 Hours a week

Duties and Responsibilities:
Parts Identification & Sourcing
- Identify and source required parts for customers, internal/external engineers, and subcontractors.
- Liaise with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
- Ensure engineer van stock levels are monitored and replenished as needed.
- Verify parts information to support accurate job processing.
Customer Service & Communication
- Work proactively with engineers to arrange parts requirements and coordinate timely deliveries.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer telephone and email enquiries.
- Keep customers and engineers informed of changes to parts availability or delivery schedules without delay.
- Prepare accurate repair estimates and provide regular updates throughout the service process.
Goods In/Out Operations
- Participate in goods-in operations including unloading, packing, and dispatching orders with correct documentation and courier arrangements.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and clearly labelled parts store.
- Uphold high standards of safety, cleanliness, and compliance across all stock areas.
Compliance
- Adhere to internal procedures and industry standards in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 certifications.
Minimum Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience using stock control systems and manufacturer databases
- Background in parts administration, logistics, or inventory management
- Knowledge of technical and mechanical components
- Excellent telephone manner, polite and friendly at all times
- Excellent communicator
- Attention to detail
- Confident with Microsoft Excel
