Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tailor/Seamstress to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, altering, and repairing garments with precision and care, as well as conducting fittings and taking in orders from clients.
This role offers an opportunity to work in a creative environment, contributing to high-quality clothing production and bespoke tailoring. Duties
- Sew and assemble garments according to specified patterns and designs
- Alter and repair clothing items to meet customer or company standards
- Select appropriate fabrics, threads, and other materials for each project
- Conduct fittings for clients accurately to ensure proper fit and comfort
- Operate industrial sewing machines and other related equipment safely and effectively
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance, ensuring all seams and stitches are perfectly done, secure and clean
- Maintain a tidy and organised workspace to uphold safety standards
- Collaborate with designers or clients to achieve desired styles and fit
- Keep detailed records of work completed on each project, take client’s project payment and issue an accurate receipt.
- Logging in the workflow order to make sure everything is complete on time
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tailor/Seamstress or in a similar role with a strong portfolio of completed work
- Proficiency in operating various sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and steady hand-eye coordination
- Knowledge of different fabrics, textiles, and sewing techniques
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or patterns accurately
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills to understand client needs and provide professional advice, as well as direct communication with the management
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Willingness to learn and adapt to established work processes
