## About the Role
This is far more than a traditional bookkeeping role. We are looking for someone who can understand the numbers behind the business, provide meaningful financial reporting, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and help directors make informed commercial decisions.
As the business continues to expand, a key objective of this role will be to improve efficiency by reviewing existing processes and identifying opportunities to automate financial tasks wherever possible. We are looking for someone who embraces technology and enjoys building systems that will support the business as it grows.
## Key Responsibilities
* Produce accurate monthly management accounts.
* Prepare budgets and financial forecasts.
* Manage cashflow forecasting and reporting.
* Monitor business performance and profitability.
* Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations.
* Prepare VAT returns and oversee payroll processes.
* Produce regular financial reports and performance dashboards for the directors.
* Support strategic planning and commercial decision-making.
* Identify opportunities to improve profitability and reduce unnecessary costs.
* Liaise with external accountants and ensure financial compliance.
* Review existing financial processes and recommend improvements.
* Identify opportunities to automate manual financial tasks and improve efficiencies.
* Assist with the implementation of new financial systems, software and reporting tools where appropriate.
* Build scalable finance processes to support future business growth.
## Essential Requirements
* AAT Level 4 qualified (minimum).
* Minimum of 4 years' experience in a finance or accounting role.
* Experience preparing management accounts.
* Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting.
* Strong understanding of cashflow management.
* Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Confident using accounting software.
* Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with the wider management team.
## Desirable
* Experience within hospitality, holiday lets or property management.
* Experience using property management accounting systems or property management software (preferred but not essential).
* Experience implementing or improving financial systems and processes.
## What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who doesn't simply maintain the finance function—they continually look for ways to improve it.
The ideal candidate will enjoy:
* Challenging inefficient processes.
* Introducing automation where appropriate.
* Improving reporting and financial visibility.
* Using technology to reduce manual administration.
* Building a finance function that can scale alongside a growing business.
* Working closely with directors to provide commercial insight and support strategic decision-making.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you will have genuine influence over how the finance function develops. If you're an experienced finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, improving systems, embracing technology and helping businesses grow, we'd love to hear from you.
