Food & Beverage Supervisor
We are looking for the perfect candidate to join our Food & Beverage team at Chester Zoo someone who lives and breathes hospitality and thrives on delivering excellent customer service.
As a Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will support the Assistant Manager with daily supervision of our Events team and taking a leading role in the running of all events across the zoo, in particular within our stunning wedding and events space The Square and our award winning gastro-pub, The Oakfield.
The Role
As part of our Operational Events team, you will be providing support to the management team, both operationally and through administrative duties, some of these tasks will include:
Helping us to maintain and improve upon our exceptionally high standards to deliver a world class experience to all visitors
Operational delivery of all events to include client, guest, supplier and internal team liaison Events will include a variety of meetings, conferences, dinner parties, weddings and unique events
Train and mentor team members to deliver an exceptional guest experience
Lead event set ups and ensure these are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard in line with departmental standard operating procedures, ensuring high standards of housekeeping in all event spaces
Bar duties such as accepting bar deliveries, ensuring bar wastage is recorded daily, line cleaning, stock rotation and taking a leading role in the operational running of the bar
Support with stock control, including regular stock takes and ordering to ensure correct stock levels are in place daily
Assist with due diligence and compliance checks for the venue, ensuring all team members are adhering to policies, developing standard operating procedures and safe working practices
The Package
You’ll be working a variety of shifts, including days and evenings for events such as weddings and corporate functions. Contract hours are 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis including weekends and bank holidays. Please note that operational shifts will include leading event closes and general venue lock up duties.

Our Requirements
Experience of working in the events and/or hospitality industry
Experience of training and mentoring a team in a high-volume business, preferably an events venue
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to think on your feet and adapt to a multitude of difference scenarios
A keen eye for detail and passion for high standards
Cash handling experience including balancing of safe/float/tills
Good working knowledge of IT
Excellent communication skills
