We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our Therapy Team Service at HMP Stafford. HMP Stafford is a category C prison based in Staffordshire supporting around 750 male patients. You will be based on-site, however there will be an expectation to cover outreach to our other prisons close by, including HMP Dovegate, HMP Oakwood and HMP Featherstone.
In this role, you will work closely with our Occupational Therapist to support our 8-bed Specialist Care Unit on-site. The unit provides rehabilitation, reablement, and palliative care, giving you the opportunity to broaden your skill set in a hands-on clinical environment.
Hours
Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week
Salary
You’ll receive an annual salary up to £41,659 per annum - depending on experience.

As a Physiotherapist, your responsibilities will vary. You will
Provide outstanding evidence-based care, listening and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
Work as an autonomous practitioner and ensure patients referred to the service are assessed, diagnosed and managed, and hold responsibility for your own caseload.
Assess patients, with diverse or complex presentations including orthopaedic, respiratory, neurological and frailty related conditions and complications in their referring prison, and to include all aspects of rehabilitation.

Qualifications required:
- Registered Physiotherapist (HCPC and MCSP)
- Evidence of relevant experience in neurological and general rehabilitation and proven post-registration experience of assessing and treating patients with a diverse needs
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
