My Life Legacy have an exciting opportunity for a Site Maintenance Operative to join our friendly team. About the role
As our Site Maintenance Operative, you'll play a key role in ensuring our 84 acre site remains safe, welcoming and well maintained for the people we support, visitors and colleagues. You will carry out the day to day maintenance of our buildings and grounds, coordinating and completing repairs, carrying out planned maintenance and responding to unexpected issues as they arise.
What you will be doing
- Carrying out general maintenance across our 84-acre site in Standish, Wigan.
- Completing basic joinery, painting and decorating to a professional standard.
- Undertaking basic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Maintaining our gardens and outdoor spaces to a high standard.
- Operating a tractor, sit-on lawn mower and grading machinery safely and effectively.
- Coordinating maintenance tasks, assessing priorities and planning workloads.
- Sourcing equipment, materials and supplies required for maintenance projects.
- Overseeing site maintenance, servicing schedules and contractor repairs.
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
- Responding to occasional out-of-hours emergencies and locking up the site when required.
What we are looking for
You will be:
- Experienced in general building and site maintenance.
- Skilled in basic joinery, painting/decorating and plumbing.
- Confident operating tractors, ride-on mowers and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Organised with the ability to prioritise workloads and coordinate multiple tasks.
- Knowledgeable about Health & Safety and safe working practices.
- A confident problem solver with a positive, can do attitude.
- Flexible and willing to participate in occasional emergency call outs and out of hours duties.
- Full UK driving licence required.
