We're looking for a commercially minded Estimator to join our expanding in-house fabrication operation in Barnsley. This is an opportunity to be part of an ambitious business unit with significant investment, a strong order book, and a clear strategy for continued growth across the UK.
Working within a highly skilled fabrication team, you'll contribute to a diverse range of structural steel and fabricated engineering projects, supporting both internal business units and external customers across multiple sectors.

As Estimator, your expertise will directly influence business performance, project success, and new customer development.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Fabrication Management Team, you'll take ownership of the estimating process from enquiry through to bid submission.
You will assess drawings, specifications, and client requirements to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates while working closely with procurement, operations, and commercial teams.
This is a highly visible role offering exposure to clients, suppliers, and key stakeholders across the business.

Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
-
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
-
Assess material, labour, plant, and manufacturing costs.
-
Identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissions.
-
Support contract reviews and negotiations with customers and suppliers.
-
Work closely with fabrication, procurement, and project delivery teams.
-
Develop relationships with existing and prospective customers.
-
Contribute to business development initiatives and growth strategies.
-
Monitor market conditions, material pricing, and industry trends.

Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems.
What We're Looking For

Strong ability to interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.

Business development or client-facing experience.
-
Understanding of procurement and supply chain management.
The Person
You'll be commercially driven, organised, and motivated by delivering results. You'll enjoy collaborating with others while also being confident working independently to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines.
Most importantly, you'll be excited by the opportunity to join a growing business where your contribution will be recognised and your ideas will help shape future success.
