Crocus at Dorney is a magical walled garden and cafe, set in the grounds of the Dorney Court estate near Windsor, one of finest Tudor manor houses in England, where we transform the idea of a local garden centre into a celebration of plants and nature.
We've revamped the café, creating a relaxed, casual setting that's full of fresh greenery and serves wholesome seasonal produce, delicious cakes and refreshing hot and cold drinks.
We're looking for an exceptional General Manager/ Garden Centre Manager to lead our team and deliver an outstanding experience for every customer who visits us.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded leader with a passion for retail, plants and people.
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the garden centre, driving sales, maintaining high standards and creating an environment where both customers and colleagues thrive.
Responsibilities
- Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team.
- Delivering exceptional customer service every day.
- Driving sales, profitability and commercial performance.
- Managing stock, merchandising and seasonal displays.
- Ensuring excellent standards across the site.
- Working with department managers to achieve business objectives.
- Planning labour effectively to meet customer demand.
- Maintaining health and safety and ensuring compliance across the site.
- Creating a positive, inclusive and engaged workplace culture.
We are looking for:
You'll be an experienced retail manager with a proven ability to lead teams and deliver results.
Horticultural/ Garden centre experience is ideal, but we're equally interested in candidates with relevant retail experience who share our passion for great service.
You'll have:
- Previous management experience in retail.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to analyse performance.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
- Confidence making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding organisational and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience.
