Warehouse and Manufacturing Operative
Location: Blithbury, Uttoxeter Road, WS15 3HY
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £25,350
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid break each day. You will also be required to work two Saturdays per month from 7:00am to 3:00pm. When you work a Saturday, you will receive a day off during the same working week. Any hours worked beyond your contracted 37.5 hours will count as overtime.

About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and physically capable Warehouse and Manufacturing Operative to join our growing team.
This is a demanding, hands-on role involving stock control, manufacturing, warehouse cleaning, order preparation and the production of custom soil mixes. The successful candidate must feel comfortable completing heavy manual work and working in a busy warehouse and manufacturing environment.
Some production tasks involve working with dusty materials, including soil, compost, bark, sand and other growing media. Suitable protective masks will be provided, and applicants must feel comfortable wearing a mask when required. Masked work will usually account for no more than two hours of the working day.
This role would suit someone who takes pride in their work, follows instructions carefully and wants to become an important part of a growing company.
Main Duties
Your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving, checking and organising incoming stock
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
- Completing regular stock counts
- Keeping stock stored safely and correctly
- Moving bags, boxes, buckets and raw materials around the warehouse
- Manufacturing and packing products
- Producing custom soil and compost mixes
- Measuring ingredients accurately according to product specifications
- Filling, weighing, sealing and labelling products
- Preparing products and orders for dispatch
- Operating warehouse and manufacturing equipment after receiving training
- Cleaning machinery, work areas, floors and storage areas
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe
- Following batch production and quality-control procedures
- Completing production and stock records accurately
- Checking finished products for weight, quality and packaging defects
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Supporting other warehouse duties when required
- Following all health and safety procedures
- Wearing masks and other personal protective equipment when required
Physical and Working Environment Requirements
This is a physically demanding position.
The role regularly involves:
- Lifting and moving heavy bags and containers
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Repetitive filling, packing and lifting tasks
- Bending, reaching and carrying
- Working at a fast and consistent pace
- Working with soil, compost, bark, sand and other dusty materials
- Wearing a protective mask during certain production tasks
- Working in a busy warehouse and manufacturing environment
Suitable masks and other required protective equipment will be provided.
Applicants must feel comfortable wearing a mask when working with dusty materials. These tasks will usually last no more than two hours per day, although this may vary depending on production requirements.
Applicants must also feel confident completing heavy manual work throughout the working day.
Working Hours
The role requires flexibility during busy periods.
Overtime will be available, particularly during seasonal peaks and periods of increased demand.
The successful candidate must also be able to work two Saturdays per month. Saturday shifts will form part of the regular working arrangement.

- Production-line work
