What you'd do
You'll run the delivery engine for a portfolio of e-commerce clients: the month-end cycle, the compliance calendar, the quality bar, and the client relationships day to day. You'll own your first clients inside your first month.
This is primarily a financial control role. The commercial side is real and it grows as you grow into it, but control and compliance come first.
The day-to-day
- Driving the month-end close: pre-close checks, journals posted, accounts reconciled
- Preparing management accounts, variance analysis and KPI reporting
- VAT returns: preparing, pre-filing checks, flagging anomalies
- Year-end accounts and self-assessment returns
- Compliance management across every statutory deadline
- Reviewing the team's output across all clients: reconciliations, VAT treatment, journals
- Acting as account manager for your portfolio: direct client contact, resolving queries, owning the relationship
- Client meeting packs, minutes and action tracking
- Building SOPs, templates and checklists as you go, with AI doing the heavy lifting
- Over time, the commercial layer: margin, pricing and cash analysis, and bringing the recommendation
Who we are
Finavate helps e-commerce founders find the hidden profit in their business, then partners with them to capture it.
We run the full finance function for founder-led brands doing £1-25m: management accounts, cash flow forecasts, budgets, KPIs, bookkeeping, VAT and year-end.
On top of that sits CFO-level advice on margin, pricing and cash. We don't just report. We partner.
AI is at the heart of how we work. This is not a traditional practice. We use AI agents to strip out the grind so human time goes on the decisions that move the needle. You'll learn ways of working most firms won't reach for years.
What you need
- ACA or ACCA qualified (CIMA considered with the right experience), and recently qualified: up to 2 years post-qualified, no more. This is a deliberate call, not a soft preference. The role is built around someone at that stage
- A strong financial compliance background. Hands-on preparing UK filings: VAT returns, year-end accounts, self-assessment returns. You know what the review stage looks like
- Management accounts and month-end: either you've run them, or you have the technical foundation to pick it up quickly.
- Strong grip on financial controls. You understand why processes exist, not just how to follow them
- Comfortable using AI as a core part of daily work, and hungry to get technical with it. More than half this role's time involves AI tooling
- Organised enough to run multiple clients at once
Desirable: Xero (our core platform), practice or multi-client background, corporation tax exposure, Dext / Fathom / A2X, experience reviewing remote team members.
Pay and what you get
£45,000 base plus an uncapped performance bonus paid against specific commercial triggers. Realistic first-year total around £50,000. The base then climbs (quickly) with the role, not the calendar, and we'll show you the full trajectory and the maths behind it at the interview.
25 days holiday plus bank holidays. Free gym membership. Company pension.
Office in North West London (NW6), primarily office-based, full-time.
This role is right for you if
- You want to build the machine, not just run it
- When you find a problem, you come with a fix
- You care that the numbers are right AND what they mean
- You're naturally curious, and you ask "what do you mean by that?" instead of rushing past it
- You want the variety of a portfolio of businesses instead of one ledger forever
It's not right for you if you need hand-holding for every decision, you want a predictable same-thing-every-day role, or you see AI as a threat rather than a tool.
Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Casual dress
- Company pension
- Gym membership
- Profit sharing

- Tell us about the most difficult problem you have ever solved. What made it hard, what you actually did, and what happened. (a human will read this, so please show them the respect of actually writing the answer yourself)
