Job Summary
Purpose of the Role
To provide temporary maintenance support during the absence of the Maintenance & Facilities Technician, ensuring production equipment remains operational and the business continues to meet its statutory health, safety and compliance obligations.
Key Responsibilities
· Planned & Reactive Maintenance
· Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery.
· Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out repairs to minimise production downtime.
· Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults within competency.
· Escalate specialist repairs where external contractors are required.
· Health, Safety & Compliance
· Complete safety-critical maintenance activities.
· Support statutory compliance activities including planned inspections and remedial actions.
· Assist with Legionella, LEV and other compliance-related maintenance as directed.
· Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
· Maintain maintenance records and completed work logs.
· Facilities Maintenance
· Carry out general building maintenance and repairs.
· Respond to urgent facilities issues affecting business operations.
· Coordinate contractors attending site where required.
· Engineering Support
· Work closely with the Head of Operations to prioritise maintenance activities.
· Focus on keeping production equipment safe and operational.
· Support business continuity by reducing downtime.
HNC/D or equivalent qualification in relevant engineering discipline,
preferably electrical/electronic or mechatronic.=
NVQ level 3: Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Level 2 & Level 3 Diplomas in Electrical Installation or equivalent
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Systems
AM2 practical assessment
ECS Gold Card certification
Indentured apprenticeship
IOSH Qualification desirable but not essential
