What You’ll Do
1. Technical Assistance
· Assist the Technical Consultant with project-specific passive fire protection requirements by reviewing drawings, specifications, service information and firestopping details.
· Support client and contractor design teams at relevant RIBA stages by identifying missing, conflicting or incomplete information and raising technical queries under the guidance of the Technical Consultant.
· Enter, update and maintain penetration schedules, firestopping matrices, trackers, client information sheets and other project records.
· Support the identification and recording of appropriate manufacturer-tested systems and products, subject to review or approval by the Technical Consultant.
· Provide estimating, operations and installation teams with technical information, including installation details, manufacturer references, marked-up drawings and general best-practice guidance.
· Liaise with clients, manufacturers, site teams and other project stakeholders to obtain information and assist with resolving routine technical queries.
2. Quality Assurance
· Assist with quality assurance checks on proposed and installed fire compartmentation works against manufacturer instructions, project requirements and internal company procedures.
· Support briefings and provide information to installation teams to help ensure works are completed in accordance with the relevant tested detail.
· Record and raise variations, defects, non-compliances and remedial actions that may affect the proposed firestopping system.
· Support site inspections and maintain relevant schedules, notes, photographs and supporting evidence.
· Maintain accurate, revision-controlled records for project handover and Golden Thread requirements.
· Follow company procedures and support compliance with relevant quality, health and safety and environmental standards.
3. General
· Communicate company quality requirements to clients and project teams where required.
· Participate in relevant internal and external meetings and provide progress updates.
· Complete relevant training and development associated with the role.
· Carry out any other reasonable ad-hoc duties as required.
What You’ll Bring
Essential
· Minimum A-Level education (or higher).
· Ideally 2+ years’ experience within the construction industry.
· Basic understanding of internal fit-out systems, MEPH, or firestopping.
· A genuine interest in Passive Fire Protection and a willingness to learn.
· Confident communication skills, including the ability to lead smaller client meetings.
· Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
Desirable (but not essential)
· PFP experience; Design Management exposure; IFE Level 2; CSCS card.
· Experience with CDEs (e.g., Aconex, Viewpoint).
· Familiarity with BIM/model viewer tools such as Dalux, Navisworks, Revit, or AutoCAD Cloud.
