Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Traditional Upholstery Tutor to join our educational team. One day a week September untill July, with availability for leisure classes. Ideal candidate will possess a passion for craftsmanship and teaching, with the ability to guide students through the fundamentals and advanced techniques of upholstery. This role offers an opportunity to share specialised skills while fostering a creative learning environment. Applicants should be organised, communicative, and enthusiastic about passing on their expertise to aspiring upholsterers.
Duties
- Deliver comprehensive upholstery training sessions to students of varying skill levels, focusing on traditional methods and techniques
- Develop customised lesson plans that cater to individual learning needs and progressions
- Demonstrate upholstery procedures, including fabric selection, padding, framing, and finishing touches
- Assess student work regularly, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement
- Maintain a well-organised workspace and ensure all tools and materials are used safely and efficiently
- Support students in developing organisational skills necessary for managing projects from start to finish
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate relevant innovations into teaching practices
Skills
- To hold stages 1,2,3 AMUSF certificate but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills to manage lesson plans, student progress records, and classroom resources effectively
- Exceptional communication skills to clearly convey techniques and concepts to learners of all levels
- Passionate about traditional craftsmanship with the ability to inspire and motivate students

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
